Jesus Christ shadowflare is one hell of a whining fanboy!
Cannot wait to play this. I'm expecting this to be the most fun game I've played this year!
He's trying to be a sarcastic troll but he's not smart or funny enough to pull it off.
Vgchartz said 4.9 million for UK+US so well done them! Almost completely right.
Yay Nasim/Cahill/Booch/Walther/Rig master/PorcelainGod/Vicodin etc and now szngamers is back!
Welcome back Nasim! :)
On topic I think MS said they had sold 10 million in Europe a few months ago but referred to PAL numbers (so including Australia). They claimed they were one million ahead in Europe but meant PAL. I suspect they are or will soon be behind now though.
Really Booch?
So why didn't 70 million people buy the SNES, N64 or GameCube?
People are buying PS3's now because they realise how amazing it is and can actually afford it. The PS3 has hit mass market price and if Sony can keep momentum sales are all up from here.
@da truth
Calm down man! How actually believes Vgchartz can do that? No one. People that defend it defend saying they are **estimates**. You know, numbers that have a leeway and can be adjusted if more accurate numbers come out.
That is all. There is no need to twist logic.
@holyorangecows
This same report also says 3.3 million ps3 versions are projected to be sold week 1. That (undeservedly) blows uncharted 2 out of the water.
So really what was that statement beyond fanboyism?
@Roah
You asked for proof of companies that use Vgchartz figures? Well here's another:
Square Enix in their financial report.
http://www.square-enix.com/... - page 7
Shh don't tell him!
So what do you think hardware sales will look like then morganfell?
If these numbers are accurate then holy hell.
@saigon
All numbers that company's release are sold to retail. If activision reports the sales now they will be to retail. Vgchartz is trying to estimate sales to consumers.
@stan lee
you are correct in what you say except for NPD, Media Create etc giving numbers of sold to retail. They *estimate* sales to consumers, much like VgChartz does but with a greater amount of sources to provide data.
...
Not once has Sony stated that. People on forums have. Sony (in 2005?) stated they would change the way they reported numbers from sold to shipped. This did not mean to consumers. This meant they now reported sales to retailers (Sold to them) instead of 'shipped' to their own warehouses.
Sony have said they now report sold but never that they report sales to consumers. I wonder why?
'Imagine the Sony figures when FF13 drops!'
---------------
******* HUGE!
28 mil shipped!*
Using the same logic the wii should be about 58 million not 55 and the 360 should be 35 million not 32.
Vgcahrtz *estimates* sales to consumers. All 3 companies give 100% accurate figures on the number they have *sold to retailers*.
@below: no company in the world reports sold to consumers. Its impossible. Why do we have NPD if its possible to accurately track themselves?
Vgchartz takes their Japanese numbers from the more reliable Media Create figures so your comment kinda fails completely.
you are the only one who deserves to be banned for their comments in this thread. And no doubt you too will be back when you with another account the next day. Sad.
NY Times
Once again you seem to miss that they are estimations that are adjusted when the official numbers from the big 3 are released. They are usually quite accurate and only small adjustments are needed.
Its a free resource, whats your beef? Would you rather pay $20,000 a month to NPD to find the figures?
I can't choose between this or Super Mario for my November game. Its impossible!
@carlton
Yes there numbers are not 100% accurate because they are estimates! Most people think vgchartz is bullshit because their numbers are lower than what all 3 companies say they are. However vgchartz report sold to consumer whilst all 3 companies report sold to retailers (shipped).
That is where the discrepency lies.
Who's talking up top? Can't see a thing.. must be the wind..
